Resorts with irreversibly devastated natural environment
The resort complexes, villages and towns listed below have suffered so much damage by "development" that they no longer qualify to be appropriate objects for tourism. However, intensive construction works continue in many of these places in the middle of the tourist season. As a result, the formerly attractive resorts have turned into overbuilt residential areas.

This list summarizes information provided by individual readers, newspaper articles and online publications. (bg) Забележка: * Фекалната маса от хотелите е изчислена от броя предлагани места по средната дневна маса фекалии от възрастен, при условие, че в хотела няма вегетарианци. Ако гостите са вегетарианци, масата се преизчислява по коефициент 1.4.
(en) A clarifying note: * The weight of excrements produced by the hotels was calculated based on the number of guests who can be accommodated and the average daily amount of excrement produced by an adult, provided that he is not a vegetarian. If the hotel guests are vegeratians, the weight of their excrements must be re-calculated by applying a quotient of 1.4.
(it) Spiegazione: * La quantità di escrementi umani si calcola secondo il numero di ospiti che ci possono accomodarsi e la quantità media di escrementi per un adulto non-vegetariano. Se gli ospiti sono vegetariani, questa quantità si moltiplica per 1,4.
(ro) O nota de clarificat: * Greutatea excrementelor produse de hoteluri a fost calculata luand in considerare numarul de oaspeti care s-au cazat si de media de excremente produsa de un adult zilnic luand in calcul ca nu este vegetarian. Daca oaspetii hotelului sunt vegetarieni atunci se va recalcula luandu-se in considerare un coeficient de 1.4.
